For many years SEMBA has maintained a beekeeping booth at the Michigan State Fair located at Woodward Ave. and 8 Mile Rd. in Detroit. SEMBA members are encouraged to enter the honey and beeswax competition.

The SEMBA beekeeping booth is an educational endeavor to inform the general public about the value of honey bees. SEMBA members volunteer to maintain the booth for three to four hour periods to answer questions and hand out materials. SEMBA does not sell honey at the booth.

If you are interested in entering honey or beeswax in the show or working at the SEMBA booth contact the SEMBA State Fair committee. Names of committee members will be published later in the SEMBA Newsletter.
